The Details

You can catch the third annual Fun Run on Saturday, Dec. 9, right here in Dickson. It’s at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, so you shouldn’t have any problems finding the location. Make sure to get to the event by 7 a.m. for registration. Then, at 7:30 a.m., the Kids Fun Run begins. Get your little ones to join in on the fun, and bring them along. The 5k will start at 8 a.m., so you’ll have plenty of time to get ready once you arrive.

Stay Hydrated

You will want to ensure that you stay hydrated both before and during the run. For a few days before you run, make sure that you’re getting enough water into your system. Try to drink several glasses of water a day. Then, when you wake up in the morning on the day of the race, you should enjoy a big glass of water. Bring some water in a bottle with you if you think you’re going to get thirsty while you run or walk.

Warm Up

While a 5k may not be that long of a distance, it can still take its toll if you’re not used to exercising that much. Therefore, you will want to do a bit of a warmup before you walk or run. Stretch out your legs, and try to get your heart rate up. That way, you will be better prepared to run.

Have Fun

Don’t take the race too seriously! Even if you are trying to come in first place, your participation is all that matters. If you have to stop running to walk, it’s no problem. Just come out, have a good time, and be proud of yourself for making a commitment to your health.

After all that training and running, you’re going to be tired. Get into a nice new vehicle from Alexander Chevrolet Buick GMC in Dickson, Tennessee, and you’ll be home in no time. We can’t wait to find you the car you’ve been searching for.
