At Alexander Chevrolet Buick GMC, we like to take time out of every month to appreciate some of the local teachers who educate our children each and every day. In honor of these wonderful people, we present the Teacher of the Month Award. Here are the biographies of the teachers you have chosen to receive the award in October: |
Sra. Maria Thornton Dickson County High School I am delighted to nominate Sra. Thornton (Spanish) for teacher of the month. She is a great addition to our faculty. Students enjoy her energetic personality and warmth. DCHS is fortunate to have her! We are excited about all the techniques and ideas we as a department can share. We are thankful she came Dickson County High School from DMS. |
Donna Bryant Lakeview School-Humphreys Co. My name is Donna Bryant, and my hometown is Covington, TN. However, I have called New Johnsonville my home for 28 years. I am an alumnus of The University of Tennessee at Martin. After college, I moved home and started teaching at Covington City School. Soon after, I transferred to my alma mater, Tipton Rosemark Academy! Go Rebels! I taught 5th grade for seven years. At this time in my life, I was able to teach along side the educators that had once taught me as a student. Still to this day, I am grateful for those years of experience I had there. After starting a family, we relocated to New Johnsonville, and I accepted a position at Waverly Elementary. A year later, I was able to move to Lakeview! I can still remember the day when Mrs. Enid Barbara came to my home to tell me I had the kindergarten teaching position. All together I have been teaching for 35 years. I am humbled and proud to say that most of my career has been here at Lakeview. Lakeview has been a huge part of my life and my family's life. I feel blessed to be a part of our school. |
Spencer D. Bryson Centennial Elementary School After graduating from MTSU in 2006, I began teaching 4th grade. I've taught 4th and 5th grades for seven years and thoroughly enjoyed my time with the children. Positive relationships and high expectations are the secrets to my students' success. I can't imagine working in another career, and I seek each and every day to provide my students with the skills they need to be successful in life's journey. I've been married to my beautiful wife, Dani, for three years and have a faithful dog named Hank. |
